Spotlight’s mission is to make theatre accessible to all by providing immersive, professionallevel training that empowers youth and young adults to grow in skill, confidence, and courage. Through hands-on education, meaningful performance opportunities, and mentorship from industry professionals, we inspire students to discover their unique talents and become the performers and people they dream of being.
Meet Treston
Born and raised in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Treston J. Henderson is an actor, singer, dancer, choreographer, producer, and creative director dedicated to cultivating the next generation of performers. A proud graduate of Austin Peay State University, where he earned his BFA in Musical Theatre, Treston has spent over a decade teaching and mentoring artists of all ages, helping them grow in both skill and confidence.
Treston’s professional career spans Broadway, national tours, and major regional theatres across the country. He has performed on Broadway in The Wiz and is currently on tour with MJ the Musical. He also served as Dance Captain for the national tour of Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations, demonstrating both his leadership and artistic excellence at the highest level.
Regionally, Treston has performed in California at Broadway Music Circus in productions of RENT, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, and Ragtime. He has also appeared at The Rev Theatre Company in A Chorus Line. A career highlight includes performing at Carnegie Hall alongside Broadway powerhouse Jessica Vosk.
Beyond performing, Treston is the Founder of Treston J. Henderson Productions and made his New York City solo debut at the iconic 54 Below with The Living Room Session. His work as a creative director and producer reflects his passion for storytelling, artistry, and excellence.
Through SPOTLIGHT Broadway Intensive, Treston is deeply grateful for the opportunity to bring Broadway- level training back home to Oak Ridge and the surrounding areas. His mission is to provide young artists with professional, high-caliber instruction while creating a supportive environment where they feel seen, challenged, and inspired.
With over 10 years of teaching experience and a heart for mentorship, Treston is passionate about helping others succeed and achieve the goals they aspire to. SPOTLIGHT is not just a camp, it is a launchpad for dreams.

SPOTLIGHT provides students with real industry insight from professionals who have performed on Broadway, national tours, and Off-Broadway productions. Through personalized, one-on-one training, students gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed while deepening their love for the performing arts.

SPOTLIGHT is a week-long, immersive Broadway-style training experience for students who love the performing arts. Students receive hands-on instruction from industry professionals while training in acting, singing, and dance, culminating in a final showcase performance.

SPOTLIGHT is open to students ages 8–18, with adult campers considered based on experience and availability. Students are grouped by age and skill level to ensure appropriate training and support.

No prior experience is required. SPOTLIGHT welcomes students of all experience levels. Auditions on the first day are for placement purposes only and help us create balanced groups.

SPOTLIGHT runs daily from 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a final performance on Saturday.

Auditions take place on Monday and are used solely to assess skill level and place students in appropriate groups. All students will participate in technique classes and perform in the final showcase

Students should prepare:
• A 16–32 bar cut of a song
• A monologue
• A dance combination (provided by one of our SPOTLIGHT choreographers) -
Yes! Lunch is provided daily for all students as part of the camp experience.

Full tuition is $850 for the week.

Yes. SPOTLIGHT offers a limited number of need-based scholarships. Please see the Scholarship page.

No. SPOTLIGHT is a day camp. Housing and transportation are not included.

Yes. Students are supervised throughout the day by teaching artists, interns, and camp staff to ensure a safe, supportive environment.

Yes! The week concludes with a fully produced showcase performance on Saturday featuring all students.

Students should wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement and dance. Closed-toe shoes are required. Dance-specific shoes may be recommended for certain classes.

That’s completely okay! SPOTLIGHT is designed to support beginners while also challenging experienced performers. Our goal is for every student to grow in confidence and skill.
